The photos and title are just for illustration and keyword searching purposes only. As we only use 100% natural raw slate and hand-cut it to shape, irregularities on the surface/sharp edges&corners and tiny chips off within the finished designs are to be expected. Our food service products, such as our cheeseboards and servicing trays, have been treated with acrylic lacquer. Our special acrylic lacquer completely seals the slate ensuring food safety and allowing for ease of cleaning (only for a few exclusive/finest products). To maintain the appearance of these items over time and hide scratches, a natural/cooking oil can be re-applied using a dry, lint-free cloth. Do not wash in the dishwasher; do not use with abrasive pan scrubs; do not place in either a conventional or a microwave oven. Our slate products are heat resistant- perfect for hot pans and dishes; fridge and freezer safe. Please keep away from children under 18-year-old, this is not a toy.
